Pisum sativum

A new variety bred and grown at Stormy Hall in North Yorkshire using the Biodynamic growing method. Purple flowering sugar pea with thick-walled edible pods of excellent flavour. Grows 160-180 cm tall. Sohara is preforming well in dry as well in wet years. Pods stay sweet and edible for a extended time on the plant. It also can be sown in a green house or tunnel from November for an early crop.

Sowing instructions

Sow early in spring. Sow the seeds 2-3 cm deep in rows 60-90 cm apart and 2-3 cm between the seeds. Can also be sown in November in a greenhouse or tunnel for an early harvest.

Sohara is a tall pea, provide support with pea netting. Medium to late maturing.
