Allium fistulosum

Fast growing Japanese bunching onion. Does not bulb but forms long white stems and dark green leaves. Very hardy, can be sown in late summer for overwintering.

Raise in a seed bed: for open ground: successional mid January for planting out from mid March, last sowing end of June for planting out end of July. For protected cropping: mid July for planting out mid of August

Direct sowing: open ground: successional beginning of March till beginning of July overwintering in greenhouse: beginning till end of August

Seed germination temperature: ca. 20 °C

Planting distance: direct sowing 25-30 x 2 cm planting 30 x 20 cm

Optimal amount of plants: ca. 100 plants/m², 5-7 seeds per soil block

Sowing depth: ca. 2 cm
