Apium graveolens 

The very aromatic green leaves are used for seasoning either fresh or dried and can also be frozen for a winter supply. 

Sowing instructions

Sow in late spring, through to mid summer. Plant-raise indoors in trays or modules from as early as February. The seeds need a lot of light to germinate well. Only cover seeds lightly with sand or not at all.

Growing Instructions

Planting distance 30 x 30 cm. Keep well watered and the plants tolerate semi-shade.The plant are medium hardy and can overwinter outdoors in most of the UK. The plants are biennial and flower in the second year. The flowers are very attractive to  many insectects. The seeds are also edible.
