Phacelia tanacetifolia
An annual plant with purple flowers, 70 cm high. Is not a legume or brassica so fits well in the crop rotation.
Produces good soil structure and is a first class food plant for honey bees, bumble bees etc. March sowings come into flower by July, later sowings to the beginning of September produce good green manure and are killed off by the frost. October sowings germinate well and usually overwinter well.
Sowing instructions
Sow from March until August in rows 35-50cm apart or broadcast.Sowing depth: 1-2 cm. Sow closer in August (20 cm). seed rate 1 g per m²
