Vicia faba

The commercial broad bean variety 'Eleonora' has long, shiny pods with a splendid flavour. The beans are ideal for freezing. This variety is known for its high production and is not prone to damage by wind. Sowing can start from February to mid April.

For best results sow from February. By raising plants in a greenhouse or cold-frame the harvest can be 1-2 weeks earlier.

Plant the seeds or plants in rows 60 cm apart with 20 cm between the plants.
